A family focussed company, Davis Funerals have supported many families, from all walks of life, through this process, each with their own set of needs.
What never changes is that each time, we honour a life as unique as the memories and families left in their wake. We still operate today with the same level of care and professionalism that we did in the 1950s. Yet now we have all the technology of the modern world to provide complete funeral services
1875
We were just beginning
Our origins lie in the 19th century. In 1875, Cornelius Little establishes a family funeral home in Auckland’s Hobson Street with his son Cuthbert.
1940
A family business
Continuing the family tradition, Cuthbert’s son Cliff becomes the third generation of Littles to join the family business.
1950
Davis joins the family
Cliff Little purchases N.C. Davis Funeral Home & Seed Shop, beginning a new era for Davis Funeral Homes.
1964
Family expansion
Cedric Little, Cliff’s son, joins the business.
1979
Expanding our reach
We open a new funeral home in Pakuranga, East Auckland in the beautiful and historic Tyrone villa.
1988
More family members join
Cedric’s brother Neil joins the business.
1990
Improving our facilities
Our original hub at 294 Dominion Road Auckland moves down the road to our new purpose-built chapel and funeral home, Grange Manor.
1991
The fifth generation
Cedric’s son Craig starts at Davis as a funeral director - the fifth generation of Littles to do so.
1998
Going west
We open our new Tuscan winery-inspired chapel and on-site crematorium in Henderson, West Auckland.
2014
Southern expansion
Dianne Troup approaches the Littles to take over Troup funeral home in Papatoetoe, South Auckland as she retires.
2016
Serving the Eastern Bays
A new Eastern suburbs funeral home opens in the old vicarage of the Church of St Thomas, Kohimarama, Auckland.
2017
Joining Propel Funeral Partners
In May 2017, Davis Funerals became part of the Propel Funeral Partners group. Davis Funerals continues to be led by members of the Little Family. Looking Towards The Future
In 2021, Craig takes a step back from the business and joins Neil on the Propel Funeral Partners Board.
