For many years now, Davis has supported Hospice West Auckland. “Since 2020 we have been privileged to be able to contribute more that $175,000 to support the invaluable work that Hospice West Auckland performs tirelessly throughout the West Auckland community every single day. As a true guardian to the West Auckland community, the hospice team ensure patients and their families receive the highest quality of care and support” Says Michael Powell, General Manager, Davis Funerals. He continues, “There is so much more to our partnership than merely financial support; and a shining example of this was our recent interactive community art event at NorthWest shopping centre to promote Dying Matters Week”
So many members of our West Auckland community took the time to stop and contribute, adding their hopes and dreams of what they want to do before they die. The installation then moved to Waitakere Central Library to be blessed before going on display to the community and further allowing visitors to the library and opportunity to add to it. But it does not stop there. Next stop for the canvases will be as part of Auckland Heritage Festival – at the Family History Expo 2026 – to be held at King’s College the weekend of 9-11 October. Our hope is for his wonderful piece of community art to travel the city, encouraging conversations about life, death, and the hopes, dreams, and aspirations that matter most to us.
