At Davis, we are proud to be part of the creation of the Rongoā garden that
Hospice West Auckland, in partnership with CHT St Margarets, have developed a for patients, whānau and community.
Rongoā Māori, traditional Māori healing, is the oldest medical practice in Aotearoa, focusing on restoring health and wellbeing through a strong and impermeable connection to nature.
The garden includes a wide range of New Zealand native flora, both shrubs and trees, and each plant is identified with its Māori name, botanical name and a description of its healing uses.
As a long standing partner of Hospice, a team from Davis went along to help with some planting, weeding and general preparation of the garden for the grand opening. Of particular significance was the planting around the water feature, which Davis have gifted, as part of our partnership with Hospice West Auckland.
At Dawn on July 6th we were proud to attend the grand opening and blessing of the garden. It was wonderful to see the result of the hard work from Hospice West Auckland and the many businesses and community members that have contributed. We look forward to the garden being a place of healing, relaxation and spirituality for all those that are able to experience it.
