Joyce Mary Jelleyman
Passed away on Tuesday afternoon, 31 March 2020, in hospital and in the company of nursing staff, after a rapidly degenerating heart condition. Joyce was in her 89th year: wife of Dr. John Jelleyman (now deceased), mother of Peter, Paul, Timothy and Ruth (Opai), mother-in-law to Christine, Judy, Elizabeth and Steve, grandmother to Juanita (Madden), Danielle (Mitchell) and Reuben; Luke and Sarah; Caitlyn and Hamish; Aurelia and Jasper, great-grandmother to Audrey. Joyce was sister to Lilian, an aunt, and a great-aunt too. She was friend to many and will be greatly missed by all.

Joyce was known for her laughter, her sincere love for people, and her impish ways.

The family especially thanks staff at Ons Dorp Retirement Village and Waitakere Hospital for their care of Joyce. It was very fitting, we think, that someone who gave up her career to raise her own family should herself pass from this life in the company of caring nurses.
Sadly, there will be no funeral in the usual manner because current COVID-19 lockdown restricts us to a small private family event. All communications c/o Davis Funerals, PO Box 56013, Mount Eden, Auckland 1446.

Since flowers are out of the question at this unusual time, the family thought people might like to give to a charity instead. Joyce loved giving to others in need and The Salvation Army fits her ethos well. Please find the page at donate at salvationarmy.org.nz
